Day-long event on advertising evinces interest among budding creators

Lucknow, March 20, 2015: Amity School of Communication (ASCO) organized a day-long event on advertising – ADVenture-2015—with an intent to evoke interest for ad-making in young, enthusiastic minds, and at the same time to provide them with a platform to showcase their creative best. The event was held on Lucknow Campus of Amity University Uttar Pradesh on Friday, March 20, 2015.

With Mr. Raj Shekhar Malviya, CEO of Promodone Communications, as Chief Guest, the first half of the event opened up to a fulfilling interactive debate on the put Portrayal of Children in Advertisements and its Impact. Mr Malviya reinforced the effectiveness of communication and appropriation of message as the key factors deciding the impact of an ad on the consumer. He apportioned the responsibility to the communicators and ranks of the advertizers while sending out any message in public domain.

During the discussion, scores of similar interesting notions came to the fore, including points of view from the students and audience that children’s behaviour in ads was often unrealistic and compulsive.

Mr Malviya was joined by Ms. Shaili Vadera, Assistant Professor Amity Business School, who presented her personal findings and an research  perspective on the topic, emphasizing on the fact that consumer behaviour in real life often deviated from the one depicted in popular advertisements. However, she reiterated that ads did not pollute the environment, they rather initiated a thought process among the consumers.

The second half of the show was dominated by hilarity and took everyone on a frolic spree of ad creation and presentation by students. PG and UG students presented a delightful show consisting of spoofs of some famous advertisements of the country by representing their own ‘Chullu Ad Agency.’ Following the fun, the results for the AD and Poster making competitions were declared. Aakriti Mathur and Nikhil Bhateja (BJMC-4 B) bagged the first prize in poster making, with Aakriti Mathur also finishing in second and Arpana, Deepti and Shubhra, Divya and Ragini (MAMM -2) coming in at third position.
